The Nokia 7200 has a form factor of flip type. Accordingly it has been equipped with two displays. Since the external display is just required for ID purposes, Nokia have saved on costs by having an external display which is Black & White. The resolution of this display is 96 x 36 pixels with an active area of just 25.6 x 10.5 mm. Unfortunately this means that picture ID function such as in Samsung phones with dual color displays will not be possible despite the 7200 having a digital camera.  The phone is very good. You can buy it from buymobiles.net.
However animated screensavers have been specially included for this small screen. The camera is located just below the external display, obviously this is the best position for it since when the user is operating the handset; the flip will be open and the camera will face the person opposite. The internal display may be used as view finder. The internal display is a TFT one with 65,536 color support. Readers may recall that we had criticized Nokia heavily for failing to enter the realm of 65k color displays while all its competitors had already released phones in this segment.

The reason is now clear; Nokia wanted to hold its trump cards close to its chest and wished to play them at an opportune moment. The size of the main display is 27.3 mm x 27.3 mm. The resolution being 128 x 128 pixels. In the basic mode this is enough to display 5 lines of text with a 16 pixel font. The handset weighs 115 gms, nothing much but the bulls eye has now shifted to 100 gms with the "small is better" moment gaining significantly in the past few months. I have however no doubts that the 7200 will easily make amends in the other arenas. .

The overall dimensions of the phone are 86 mm x 50 mm x 26 mm. The menu is fully graphical and Nokia claims that new animated graphics have been used to further make the phone user friendly and fun to use. Two soft keys have been given; the user has the option of configuring them for use. Four-way scroll is also possible. As with most other Nokia phones, the 7200 has an internal antenna. Not only does this look sophisticated but also makes it easier to slip the handset inside a purse or pocket.

Cover panels are unique for this phone, textile based and will be available in a variety of colors. The 7200 is powered by a Li-Ion battery of 760 mAh with a company claimed 300 hour standby period along with 5 hour talk time. Of course depending on usage of the higher end functions, this figure will vary. Unfortunately despite having a video camera capable of recording still pictures as well as videos; the 7200 does not have a memory expansion slot.
